Plantagenet Wyjup Blanc De Blanc 2021 x 6

Description

This 2021 Blanc de Blancs has a very pale straw colour with a luminous green hue.

Some hints of lemon sherbet and fresh white peach complexed by a nutty, brioche nuance on the nose. The tightly wound palate is focused and intense. The yeast autolysis gives a nutty, creamy textural component to the mid-palate that carries through to a long finish from the plentiful natural acidity.

Pair with Traditional Oysters – where the zesty salt flavour matches the pristine wine characters.

Limited and Exclusive. This wine has a cellaring potential of 7-10 years. 7000 Bottles Made.

93 points – “Fabulous bead and mousse on pouring, fine and persistent. Lifted aromas of stone fruit, nuts, citrus rind and a doughy breadiness. Fine, focused and really smart drinking. A core of lemon and just-ripe stone fruit flavours plies its trade and the pin-point acidity delivers line and length. A very fine blanc de blancs that will age quite gracefully.” – Aaron Brasher, The Real Review

90 points – “It’s light and briny, fresh and frisky. A tightly wound and compact sparkling wine of an aperitif-style bent. Youthful and refreshing with scents and flavours of green apple, gingerbread, light toast, halva and marzipan. Nice to drink.” – Mike Bennie, Wine Companion
