2019 Brother John May Reserve Shiraz
Named in honour of Brother John May who completed 50 vintages at Sevenhill Cellars. A very limited release of small bottlings of wine suited to longterm cellaring and only made from exceptional vintages.
Deep red in colour. Aromas of biscuit and spice, opening slowly to reveal blackberry and dark plums, iodine with hints of mint and eucalyptus. Fine textural tannins flow through the palate. The fruit is tightly bound, gradually revealing itself. The finish is long and persistent. The balance and youthfulness of the wine suggest a long future for those with patience.

A formidable Shiraz.So deep, so dark, so potent and yet, stellar balance. Dark Cherry, mocha and espresso characters among ripe plum, choc-orange, brined black olive and leafy, minty elements. Rich, satiny, very concentrated and finishes way into the distance. Finds an even keel between ripeness, spice, wood seasoning and freshness.

Ripe and intesnse feel from the outset with rich dark plums, dark chocolate cedary spicy oak and black cherries. The palate holds a very intense, juicy feel with ripe dark plum, blackberry and chocolate flavours. Try from 2025.
