La Côte aux Enfants Champagne 2013, the embodiment of Jacques Bollinger's visionary spirit

Since 1829, Champagne Bollinger has been sublimating the Champagne terroir, whose identities are reflected in the wines it produces. Its desire to preserve and enhance this terroir and these landscapes is historically illustrated by the meticulous constitution of a House vineyard. La Côte aux Enfants is one of the best examples of this vision. This plot was patiently acquired by Jacques Bollinger himself, Elisabeth's husband, between 1926 and 1934.
Today, the House of Bollinger pays tribute to the visionary spirit of the latter, by unveiling its first single-plot cuvée: La Côte aux Enfants Champagne, the result of research carried out around this eponymous plot.

An elegant wine with remarkable vivacity

La Côte aux Enfants Champagne is a wine made from 100% Pinot Noir Grand Cru, from the north-west slope of a single plot La Côte aux Enfants. This champagne had a maturation time in the cellar and under cork more than 2 times longer than the rules of the Appellation. Its dosage is low with 4 grams per litre.

A contrasting wine year, challenges met.

The 2013 wine year was marked by a succession of particular climatic conditions: a rainy spring combined with a hot summer with the strongest sunshine ever recorded in Champagne. Despite these strong constraints, this harvest offers grapes of high quality, particularly for the Grand Cru d'Aÿ.
