This Isabella‘s Cabernet opens with mulberries and blue fruits before florals emerge as do spiced nuts, sweet earth and a little coffee bean aromas from oak. To taste the wine has a list of red and black fruits in cherries, blueberries, and blackberry. The wine is fresh in its lively acid but has a rumble of high-qua lity tannin that underlies the fruit and finish of fine length. This wine is incredibly youthful at this point and right now appears tightly coiled however it has been built for the cellar and shows the hallmarks of a fine Yarra vintage for Cabernet. It will reward patience.
