An Australian exploration of the craft of VS, VSOP and XO since 1925. Dr William Angove established a distillery in Renmark in 1910. His plan was to make a plain spirit for fortifying wine. In 1925, William’s son Carl decided to create a new style of Australian brandy that was lighter and more delicate than anything previously produced. His journey became our journey. His passion to do one thing brilliantly became our passion. His ambition to show the world another face of Australian produce excellence became our ambition. His ultimate purpose to create an Australian spirit of iconic world standard and a uniquely Australian expression of brandy became our purpose. TASTING NOTES colour aroma flavour age alcohol Golden amber. Citrus and stonefruits open to layers of candied fruits. Some quince jelly and marmalade matched with integrated sweet oak. The palate shows the candied stonefruits of the nose with an alcohol warmth embraced by fruit intensity, cedary sweet oak and aged rancio character. This is a spirit that shows the balance and harmony achieved when oak and spirit integrate for over 15 years. Minimum spirit age 15 year old. 40% AWARDS Royal Australian Spirit Awards 2024 ~ Gold, Trophies ‘Champion Brandy’ & ‘Champion Spirit in Show’ Royal Hobart Wine Show 2024 ~ Gold and Trophy ‘Best Brandy’ Riverland Wine Show 2024 ~ Gold and Trophy ‘Best Brandy’ Tasting Australia Spirit Awards 2024 ~ Gold Medal and Best in Class Royal Perth Distilled Spirits Awards 2024 ~ Gold and Trophy ‘Champion Brandy’ Hong Kong International Wine and Spirit Competition 2024 ~ Gold and Trophy ‘Best Grape Brandy’ Melbourne Royal Australian Distilled Spirits Awards 2024 ~ Gold

Halliday Wine Companion – Fredd Higgins – May 2025 – 95 Points
“This brandy is all about the subtle integration of fruit and oak. At 15 years of age, it’s impressive that the oak hasn’t taken over, showing serious attention to detail in the cask selection and blend ng process. A delicate nose of waxed fruit hints at real power despite the relatively low alcohol,
and the oak is a teasing rather than aggressive presence. The easy-going palate reveals layers of marzipan, orange cake, and gentle tannin, making it effortless to drink. This has long been one of my favourite Australian spirits, so I’m trying not to let confirmation bias get in the way, but there’s nothing to fault. The texture is there in spades, a difficult achievement when grapes have far less
naturally occurring oils than grains.”

“This is a star of an Australian product that was up against some very heavy international
competition including Cognac and Armagnac. This brandy is subtle, yet balanced. Beautifully
crafted by St Agnes Distillery in South Australia.”
Bartender Magazine – Sam Bygrave – November 2015
“St Agnes XO is a pot still brandy that is deeply coloured and complex on the palate. It is an
aromatic brandy with subtle rancio aromas, with smooth, dry, and long flavours leading to a
nutty oak finish.”
Theaureview.com – Chris Singh – 14.08.15
“A gorgeous nose of caramel, nutmeg and stonefruits is immediate, connected with the fruity
palate that brings vanilla, marmalade, and raisins. It’s slightly spicier and has more bite than
one would expect, complex with a long, buttery and slightly nutty finish of orange cake and
caramel. You will feel a great warmth in the chest as this goes down.”
SA Life Magazine—David Sly—December 2014
“It’s a drink that has fallen off most people’s radar, yet we forget that some of the best brandy
available continues to be made in South Australia, by Angove’s. The standard St Agnes Three
Star Brandy – a winning pot still recipe since 1925 – represents great value, but if you want
something truly special opt for the St Agnes XO Seven Star Brandy, deeply coloured from a
long maturation in oak that gives a pleasing nutty aftertaste.”
Sydney Morning Herald—Huon Hooke—07.10.14—95 Points
“This superbly packaged brandy has deep amber colour and magnificent marmalade,
old-leather aromas of terrific complexity. It’s minimum 20 years old and powerful on the
palate, with pleasingly understated oak, significant alcohol warmth on the finish and
enormous persistence.”
