Founded in 1978 by the Mariani family, Castello Banfi is a renowned winery located in Montalcino, Tuscany. The estate is celebrated for its commitment to combining traditional winemaking techniques with modern innovation, producing wines that reflect the rich heritage of the region.

Producer and Winemaker

The Collepino 2020 is produced under the guidance of Castello Banfi’s experienced winemaking team, who focus on creating approachable yet expressive wines that showcase the character of Tuscany’s terroir.

Vineyards and Micro Climate

The grapes for Collepino are sourced from vineyards in Tuscany, benefiting from the region’s favorable climate and diverse soils, which contribute to the wine’s complexity and balance.

Vinification & Aging Methods

The wine undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fresh fruit characteristics, followed by a period of aging that enhances its complexity and smoothness.

Tasting notes

Collepino 2020 presents a deep ruby red color and offers a medium-bodied profile that is both smooth and flavorful. The palate reveals vibrant flavors of ripe red cherries, plums, and a hint of spice, complemented by soft tannins and a lingering finish.

Food & Wine Pairing

This wine pairs well with a variety of dishes, including grilled meats, pasta with tomato-based sauces, hard cheeses like Pecorino, and roasted vegetables.

Service Methods and Temperatures

Serving Temperature: 16–18°C (60–64°F)
Decanting: Not necessary, but allowing the wine to breathe for 15–30 minutes can enhance its aromas.
