Explore the Excellence of Pichler-Krutzler Wachau Riesling 2022

High above the Danube on the famous Steiner Pfaffenberg, the vines for this wine grow. The soils are barren and consist of crystalline primary rock at the western end of the site, bordering the Wachau, dominated by hard Gföhler gneiss – as if made for the Riesling grape variety. Exclusively by hand and organically processed since 2017, all the attributes of a characterful and subtle wine can be found in the glass: transparent, highly elegant without any heaviness or fullness.

Attractive green-yellow, fine, dark fruity Riesling nose, puristic and dry on the palate, fine and long finishing.

Distinctive Terroir of Wachau Pfaffenberg

The Pichler-Krutzler Wachau Riesling originates from the esteemed Pfaffenberg vineyard, one of the prime sites in the Wachau region. Known for its steep slopes and terraced vineyards along the Danube, this area imparts a unique mineral complexity to the grapes. The cool climate and diverse soil composition of gneiss and loess help preserve the wine’s natural acidity and aromatic finesse. This terroir results in a Riesling that is both vibrant and well-balanced, capturing the essence of Wachau’s world-class wine tradition in every bottle.
