Cherry, blackberry, dried herb and mint, some cracked black pepper and spice. Medium-bodied, dry and savoury, brick dust tannin is very appealing, Spanish black olive and dried herb, a little orange zest too, and a firm finish of excellent length. It’s all about the texture and feel of it. Very much in the Tonic house style!

‘lovely pure fruit flavours…’

95 Points

Medium deep colour. Pure dark plum, musky, dark cherry, raspberry, strawberry aromas with violet, Turkish delight notes. Supple and fleshy with lovely pure fruit flavours, slinky textures, very good mid-palate viscosity and plenty of mineral length. A sweet-fruited finish with a touch of aniseed. Classical and delicious.

‘…perfectly ripe and refined’

95 Points

This wine has a bold concentrated flavour yet delivered with utter elegance and effortlessness. Black and blue fruit, damson plum and purple fig, a lift of red apple skin, freshly polished leather, iodine, graphite almost. It’s bloody, it’s meaty, it’s a haunting flavour of perfectly ripe and refined fruit with a mouthwatering, deeply savoury-salty infusion. Simply beautiful.

‘The 2022 is delicious now and will be for some time to come.’

95 Points

This 2022 Grenache soars with superb purity of black cherry aromas lifted by savoury touches of wood smoke and coal fire, all neatly wrapped in a cloak of French oak. This has raw power on display with rich veins of earthy blackberry finely dusted with Middle Eastern Spices. Exquisite underlying tension and a wall of fine tannins drive an extraordinarily long, fine finish. The 2022 is delicious now and will be for some time to come.

‘This is an alluring, seductive wine, one that will endure long into the future…’

95 Points

2022 is an incredibly beautiful vintage, and I am continually and repeatedly reminded of its beauty. Here, the 2022 Grenache is silky, elegant and beautiful. The fruit is red and black, the blood plum/star anise/fennel notes finely woven through the tannins, which are silty and reminiscent in flavor of dried rose petals. This is an alluring, seductive wine, one that will endure long into the future. There are some clove and ironstone notes on the nose. 15% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

Waves of gorgeous red fruit…

17.5+

27% whole-bunch. Aged in old French oak and concrete. Waves of gorgeous red fruit that is glossy and thick thanks to the high but balanced alcohol. Pixel-perfect tannins that are wonderful to drink now. Quicksilver acid that gives structure without intrusion. Such smart winemaking. Captures the muscle of Grenache but puts it in ballet shoes.
