The journey of a light Barossa Syrah that speaks of Europe.
We’re in the green zone here with a very zippy crunchy Syrah. The fruits off some pretty heavy dark black clays on the Valley floor, so we get serious colour from very minimal extraction. It does not taste how it looks though, light plush mouthfeel with crunch and tannin for days. Will suit some time in the cellar too.
TASTING NOTE:
Deep purple, liquorice aniseed on the nose. The palate features soft and plush, chocolate, cherry with plenty of grip and structure, fine tannins and a long soft finish.
VINIFICATION:
70% whole bunches, semi-carbonic fermentation over 14 days, basket pressed to seasoned hogsheads.
