A66 Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 x 6
Product Description
Crafted in tiny batches within the historic 1868 Glenroy Shearing Shed in Coonawarra, the Glenroy A66 Cabernet Sauvignon is a true testament to tradition and terroir. This vineyard, nurtured by Tim Kidman since 1994, thrives on the rich terra rossa soils where generations of sheep once grazed. The passion and care invested in these vines come through in every bottle.
Fermented exclusively with indigenous wild yeasts by Sue Bell and Steve Brown of Glenroy Winemakers, the wine undergoes delicate hand plunging three times daily over a week in an open vat. Following this, it is basket pressed into half new French oak hogsheads for secondary fermentation, enhancing texture and softness. Further barrel maturation under Phil Lehmann’s expert supervision brings depth and complexity.
The result is a deep, rich dark red wine with a garnet core and an aromatic bouquet of dark chocolate, briar, cassis, plums, and sweet red fruits. Subtle hints of iodine and dried herbs add intrigue to its complex profile. On the palate, expect classic fine Cabernet tannins with a mineral-driven structure, piercing cassis flavors, dark chocolate nuances, and elegant oak support.
This small-batch collaboration between Tim and Sarah Kidman, Sue Bell, and Phil Lehmann highlights the dedication and craftsmanship required at every step—from vineyard to bottle.
Perfect for collectors and lovers of artisanal Australian Cabernet, Glenroy A66 delivers a rich, textured wine that honors its heritage and terroir.
