Best's Great Western Blanc de Noir 2024 x 6
With premium shiraz sourced from our Sugarloaf Creek Vineyard in Great Western, our new Blanc de Noir is picked at the start of the ripening period. A section of the vine foliage is removed to let the sun work its magic on the grapes.
By harvesting the grapes earlier than we would for a red wine, we retain higher natural acidity essential for a bubbly white. Next, we handpick the grapes and gently press them to extract the juice, without any colour from the red wine skins.
Finally, the wine is turned into a cuvee and is ready for your enjoyment. Treat yourself to this exquisite Blanc de Noir – guaranteed to delight your taste buds.
HOW DOES IT TASTE?
Lovely primary fruit notes of apricots, sherbert, orange citrus, and peaches and cream. Citrus drives through the palate and finishes with lemon pith and rind. A vibrant and fresh aperitive style of wine.
The youthful freshness on release is so delicious and should be enjoyed young. Coming into the warmer months this wine is best paired with oysters, smoked salmon and a cheese board.
VINTAGE CONDITIONS:
Vintage 2024 began with a very wet spring. Rain and cool temperatures were the theme up to Christmas. The rain slowed down in January and was followed by very warm weather across February.
The warmer end to vintage promoted intense stone fruit characters in the finished product. The fruit was picked on the 12th of March from our Sweeney Block at Sugarloaf Creek Vineyard.
WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAYING:
Herald Sun - Best Wines Under $30
“Made only with black (noir) shiraz grapes from Best’s Great Western vineyard, this dazzler delivers fruit-forward aromas and flavours of raspberries, strawberries, pink grapefruit and pastries. It’s feather light and delicate, yet piercingly crisp to taste.”

Food and Wine- Reviews by Rick Allen
'Not your everyday bubbles- a white sparkling wine made from red grapes, in this case shiraz. There's a fruity generosity of flavour here, mostly raspberry and strawberry, with citrus and lemon pith lurking in the background.
Light and zippy, very much in the aperitif style. Tasty and good value. Grab some fresh oysters and you're on a winner.'
