It was Georges Bollinger's British agent who, in 1911, gave it the name Special Cuvée, written in English and without an accent. Indeed, he finds the expression "Brut sans année" inappropriate for a champagne of such subtlety... More than a hundred years later, the name of this emblematic cuvée of the House of Bollinger still contains its entire history.
A way to imprint on the label and in the memories what the taste buds already know: Special Cuvée is really very... special. We find all the know-how of the House, in its ability to recreate each year a cuvée consistent in style and quality!

The delicate blend of the expression of a harvest and a majority of reserve wines, partly kept in magnums between 7 and 15 years

Special Cuvée is composed of more than 85% Grands and Premiers Crus of the three main Champagne grape varieties: 60% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay and 15% Meunier. It has a maturation time in the cellar more than twice as long as the rules of The appellation. Its dosage is moderate, between 6 and 7 grams per litre.

A beautiful aromatic complexity

Special cuvée is the result of a precise blend of several harvests but above all of reserve wines which give it all its structure and make it a reference of the Bollinger style.

A golden colour, a distinctive sign of the black grape varieties. A very fine bubble.

A very nice aromatic complexity with aromas of ripe fruit and spices. : notes of roasted apple, compote and peach.

On the palate, there is a subtle combination of structure, length and liveliness. The bubble is as thin as velvet. Aromas of pear, brioche and spices, notes of fresh walnut are revealed when tasted.

Special Cuvée is to be shared for a moment of conviviality, simple and rich in meaning, a champagne to offer to those you love, lovers of good things. To highlight its unique style, its bouquet and its aromas, we advise you to serve this wine between 8 and 10°C. You can taste Special Cuvée now, or choose to let it age in the cellar.
