This 2022 Cabernet is bold for Coonawarra but still holds its shape admirably. Powerful slaty blackcurrant aromas are lifted by touches of oregano and bay leaf with sweet blackberry in support. Dry, sturdy and strong with a dense core of drying tannins accented by juicy acidity. "Tulip and violet florals. Boysenberry and blackcurrant. A lick of dried gum leaf and paperbark. Licorice allsorts and red confectionary. A wash of lengthy acidity and fairly sandy and powdery tannins. Still knitting together and with cellaring you'll find the cassis and black berried fruit come alive.
