CRAVENS PLACE SHIRAZ
Our story starts with our first red and our first character,
Craven. A pioneering gent lured by the glittering gold rush,
Thomas Craven established the miners’ produce store that
now houses our cellar door. Inside, he sold and traded goods
for gold. Out back, his horses and mail coach awaited their
next potentially perilous journey.
And so we crafted this bright, easy drinking shiraz in his
honour — with rich fruits from the region’s warmer north
a nod to Craven’s cravin’ for wealth in those heady,
hopeful days.
VINEYARD
The grapes for the Cravens Place Shiraz are sourced from one
of the earlier plantings in the warmer north of the Heathcote
region called Colbinnabin where deep rich Cambrian soils
produce wines with enhanced aromatics and complex fruit
driven flavours. Vines are aged in excess of 20 years.
TASTING NOTE
A wine with a beautiful vibrant array of fresh red and black
berry fruits, supreme balance and plenty of primary fruit
concentration. The palate is sweet and supple with juicy
generosity and a hint of oak spice for complexity.
CELLARING
Drink now or be rewarded with careful cellaring for up
to 5 years.
