Gibson Duke Grenache 2022 x 12
Product Description
Adam, second generation at Gibson, is The Duke. Back in his footy days, legend has it he’d often be engaged in scuffle and melee, dukes-up in defence of his teammates. Duke Grenache carries that energy. It’s a story of lively exuberance versus boldness in wine style. The palate is fresh and vibrant with flavours of cranberry, cherrystone & red apple skin, leading to a long delicate finish of fine chalky tannins. Dirtborn Barossa reflects our spirit of prospecting. It began with Rob Gibson – The Dirtman – during his formative years as a geologist. We continue a keen-eyed search for what might be hidden, waiting to be revealed.
The 2023 growing season featured above average winter rains followed by a perfectly mild, fine, dry harvest period. Temperatures were milder than average with few hot days. Ripening was slow, enabling good retention of fine varietal flavours.
Floral aromas of red cherries, raspberry coulis and cranberry with hints of dried flowers and a touch of white pepper spice. The medium-bodied palate is fresh and vibrant with flavours of cranberry, cherrystone & red apple skin, leading to a long, delicate finish of fine chalky tannins.
