Product Description
Claus Schneider Estate Pinot Noir (Weiler Schlipf, Baden, Germany)
Perched on the gently sloping limestone-rich soils of the Tüllinger Berg, this estate-grown Pinot Noir is a true reflection of place and philosophy. Claus and Susanne Schneider, whose winemaking lineage dates back to 1425, work exclusively with grapes from their sustainably managed vineyards in Germany’s southernmost region—Markgräflerland.
The fruit is hand-harvested from lower slopes and aged for at least 10 months on lees with minimal intervention. The result is a wine of clarity and depth: aromas of red and black berries, cherries, dried herbs, and a subtle floral lift are supported by nutty, earthy nuances and a whisper of mint and tobacco. The palate is taut, fresh and quietly powerful, with salty minerality, delicate spice, and a savoury, gently bitter finish.
This is a Pinot Noir that speaks softly but says so much—elegant, distinctive, and deeply rooted in its storied terroir.
