Pichler-Krutzler Wachau Loibenberg Gruner Veltliner 2021 x 2
Product Description
With its earliest citation dated from the year 1253, then initialled with the attribute “Austria’s first vineyard”, the Ried Loibenberg since centuries ranked among the most important single vineyards in the entire Wachau. Besides it is one of the largest in area cohesive site of the Wachau and therefore makes wines of different characteristic and style, which however are featured by its south direction and the influence of the Pannonian climate. The steep stone terraces away up to almost 400 m largely comprise of Gföhler gneiss, which in various basins and coves may be covered with loess deposits. As a result, there the varieties Grüner Veltliner (loess) and Riesling (gneiss) are equally represented, though both always showing the singular terroir of Loibenberg.
Loibenberg, for many, is the quintessential site in the Loibner, the eastern side of the Wachau. This vineyard shows the warmth of the region with buoyant textures and fruit that leans on an orange citrus note. This is juicy and mouthwatering.
