The near perfect 2021 McLaren Vale vintage graced us with perfect crops and ripening conditions delivering wines of distinctive pure varietal characters. Warm days and cool nights with low disease pressure provided optimum conditions for this medium weight Cabernet Merlot blend. Sourced from selected blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon 73% and Merlot 27% the base wines were matured in a selection of 2- and 3-year-old French oak barriques for 2 years.
This wine has a bouquet of black briary fruit, cassis, cherries and cedary oak. The rich and intense fruit follows into the palate with juniper, plum, blackcurrant and mocha integrating with fine oak tannins. This elegant wine is ready to drink now or will reward with cellaring.
